OBJECT 042 serves as the test bed of OBJECT series.
Broadly speaking I am looking to solidify a set of art directions and workflow within given concept. The Final product must carry vital information while being clean and consistent.
Numerous sets of asset was made along the way, ranging from hard surface scene prop set, rock/boulder environment set, and ground material set.

In order to get a clean and effective reading of the textures, I have invested a fair amount of time in researching every material involved in this project, gaining a deeper understanding to the object is very helpful in recreating them in their purest and minimal form.

Color scheme remained simple, obsidian lacquer black, neutral washed sand, and polished brass for texture and accent. Reason for having such a loose color scheme is to give room for textures, if things starting to get noisy a unified color scheme will be very useful in grouping things together and provide visual reference to the next tuning step.

I spent a fair amount of time setting up material for rocks in UE5, Triplanar projection, masked texture blend, macro normal, and Z dirt was eventually used for all rocks and boulders. Admittedly they are still a bit muddy in my standard.

Close up shot for detail, ground materials blends naturally with each other. Bronze color stands out with just the right amount of information.
